ECC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship Brackets Announced

Central Islip, N.Y. - The University of Bridgeport Purple Knights captured the ECC Men's and Women's Basketball regular season titles and earned the top seed in the ECC Basketball Tournament for the respective genders. 

The Molloy College Lions claim the No. 2 seed on the women's bracket while C.W. Post seals the No. 2 seed for the men.  The top two seeded teams for each gender will receive a first round bye.

The Play-in rounds will be held on Wednesday, March 3 with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. for all games.  On the women's side, No. 3 C.W. Post will host No. 6 Queens and No. 4 Dowling will host No. 5 St. Thomas Aquinas.  For the men, No. 3 Queens will play host to No. 6 Dowling and No. 5 NYIT will travel to the fourth-seeded Molloy Lions.

The Semifinals will be held on Saturday, March 6 with the Championship games set for Sunday, March 7.  For more Championship information, please visit www.eccsports.org.

No. 6 Queens (6-15 ECC, 6-21) at No. 3 C.W. Post (14-7 ECC, 19-8) - 7:00 p.m.
No. 5 St. Thomas Aquinas (11-10 ECC, 15-12) at No. 4 Dowling (13-8 ECC, 19-8) - 7:00 p.m.

Men:
No. 6 Dowling (8-13 ECC, 10-19)  at No. 3 Queens (14-7 ECC, 17-10) - 7:00 p.m.
No. 5 NYIT (10-11 ECC, 13-15) at No. 4 Molloy (10-11, 12-17 ECC) - 7:00 p.m.

Dowling/Queens winner vs. No. 1 Bridgeport (18-3 ECC, 21-8) - 5:00 p.m.
NYIT/Molloy vs. No. 2 C.W. Post (18-3 ECC, 22-5) - 7:30 p.m.
