C.W. Post SAAC Participates in Second Annual Super Bowl Splash in Long Beach
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - At 1 p.m. on February 6,
2011, the C.W. Post’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee,
along with fellow Pioneer student-athlete, joined thousands of
others on the sands of Long Beach to take to the Atlantic Ocean for
the Annual Super Bowl Splash. The event is held in Long Beach each
year in the hope of raising large donations for the Make-A-Wish
Foundation.
SAAC and the fellow student-athletes all gathered on the beach to
test the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean as part of the
day’s event. Members of football, cheerleading, volleyball,
field hockey, and lacrosse all made efforts to sprint towards the
ocean, with most coming out as fast as possible while others braved
the cold long enough to capture some photos.
Gathered as a large group on the sands of Long Beach, the Pioneer
flag could be seen blowing in the wind to mark that C.W. Post was
well represented on the day. SAAC plans to be even more of a force
in the years to come as the student-athletes continue to fundraise
and support the children and community of the Make-A-Wish
Foundation.
Field Hockey senior Sydney Hagen (Exeter, N.H.) was a major
contributor to the information gathered for this release.
