STAC’S TARTARA NAMED MALE SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
Central Islip, N.Y. - St. Thomas Aquinas Men’s Soccer player, Andrew Tartara, has been named the 2012 East Coast Conference Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The senior goalkeeper was already named the 2011-2012 Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Tartara, a psychology major with a 3.7 grade point average, helped the Spartans advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. A goalkeeper, Tartara ranked third in the conference in both goals against average and save percentage. His outstanding play in front of the net earned him a spot on the ECC All-Conference Second Team. Tartara was also named the 2011 Men’s Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
