NYIT Volleyball and Women’s Basketball Teams Join Girls Scouts for Holidays

Huntington, N.Y. – On Saturday, December 13, NYIT's women's volleyball and basketball teams joined forces to assist the Girl Scouts of Huntington in hosting its Annual Community Holiday Party.

"This was a fantastic event for our program to attend," said head women's basketball coach Anthony Crocitto. "We enjoyed working with all the young ladies in hopes of making a difference in their young lives.  We plan to build a stronger relationship with the Girl Scouts, and we are excited to do more things with the awesome group."

The women set up and organized the event. They engaged in arts and crafts activities with the girls and also served food to the guests. After a full day of dancing, singing and speaking with girls scout members, the Bears helped the organization clean and conclude the event.

"The women had a great time and saw their importance as major role models to so many young girls," said head women's volleyball coach Gail Wasmus. "They understand the need to give back."
