MCLAUGHLIN TABBED AS GRADUATE ASSISTANT COACH AT SACRED HEART
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Aug. 10, 2010) – Former Molloy College women’s basketball standout Jenna McLaughlin (Carle Place, N.Y.) was recently named the graduate assistant coach at Division I and Northeast Conference program Sacred Heart University. She joins the Pioneers after a three-year playing career with the Lions, winning a pair of East Coast Conference titles in that time. At Sacred Heart, McLaughlin will be responsible for study hall and film exchange amongst other assigned responsibilities.
In 81 career games (21 starts) at Molloy, the Carle Place
native totaled 240 points and 125 rebounds. She also dished out 93
assists and swiped 75 steals. Her greatest scoring performance was
at University of Bridgeport on February 6, 2008, when she put up 13
points on 4-for-7 shooting (3-5 3-FG) in her only start of the
year. Then, on December 6, 2008, McLaughlin had 12 points to go
with three assists and three steals at Concordia College.
“I am ecstatic to be offered this position. Ever since I
began playing college basketball, I knew that I had a true passion
for coaching,” stated McLaughlin. “I am so excited to
be a part of the Sacred Heart community, as well as Coach
Swanson’s staff. I know that I will learn a great deal by
working at such a successful program.”
McLaughlin will make her coaching debut on November 12 when
Sacred Heart hosts Saint Peter’s College in a non-conference
clash at the William H. Pitt Health and Recreation Center. Tip-off
is scheduled for 7 p.m.
