William Clyde, Jr.
Director of HEOP
William Clyde, Jr received his Bachelor of Science in physical education from Manhattan College in 1978 & his Master of Science from Long Island University in 1986.
He was hired in April of 1981 as the Coordinator of Tutorial
Services for the HEOP office at the C.W. Post Campus of Long Island
In 1982/83 he was given additional responsibilities as the Academic Advisor and still served in his role as Coordinator of Tutorial Services.
Since June of 1986 he has been the Director of the Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program which provides academic, financial and other supportive services for students who would not meet the normal criteria for admission into college. William also oversees the Martin Luther King, Jr and the Educational Achievement Scholarship Programs for the C. W. Post Campus of Long Island University.
Mr. Clyde, served in a variety of positions with the state wide HEOP Program Professional Organizations including as regional treasurer in the 1980’s and as the Vice President from 1988-1992. He is currently the Long Island Regional Representative for the Higher Education Opportunity Program Professional Organization since 2006. Mr. Cylde also serves as the Faculty Mentor to the Men’s Basketball team
