Central Islip, NY - The Spartans of St. Thomas Aquinas College are
the top seed for the upcoming East Coast Conference Baseball
Championships.
The Spartans tied with Dowling College and the University of New
Haven atop the regular season standings, but earned the top seed
through conference tiebreaking procedures. New Haven took the
second seed, while Dowling is third.
Tournament action opens Wednesday with single elimination games. No. 3 seed Dowling will host No. 6 seed Adelphi, while No. 4 seed LIU/C.W. Post hosts No. 5 seed Molloy.
The tournament then shifts to the sparking Golden Lions baseball stadium located on Dowling College's Brookhaven, N.Y. campus. The tournament shifts to double elimination games Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Adelphi is the defending tournament champion, having topped C.W. Post in last year's final.
Tickets are $5 per day for general admission,
$2 for children (12 and under) and seniors, and free for ECC
students with a valid college ID.
Directions to Golden Lions Field:
From Long Island Expressway (Rte 495, East or
Westbound):
Exit LIE at Exit 68 (William Floyd Pkwy/Route 46) and proceed south
for one mile. The campus is on your left.
From Sunrise Highway:
Take exit 58N and go north on William Floyd Pkwy for 1.5 miles.
Campus is on your right.
Pets are not allowed in the Dowling College Sports Complex. No seeds or tobacco products are allowed in the Dowling College Sports Complex.
