Player of the Week

Ian Kuchta, Adelphi (So., A, Norwalk, Conn. / Brien McMahon) - Helped guide Adelphi past No. 4 Dowling (13-8) with a game-high seven goals, including four of the Panthers first eight.

Goalkeeper of the Week

Devin Schneiderbauer, Adelphi (So., Pepperell, Mass. / St. Bernards) - Made 16 saves with five groundballs in a 13-8 win over No. 4 Dowling. 11 of his stops came in the second half.

Rookie of the Week

Michael Giordano, C.W. Post (Fr., GK, Farmingville, N.Y. / Farmingville) - Earned his second win of the season in just his second start, making eight saves with two groundballs in a win over Molloy.

ECC Notebook

ECC: In this week's USILA Division II national top 10 poll (4/21), five of the seven ECC programs remain in the national rankings. NYIT remains No. 2, C.W. Post moves up one spot to No. 4, Adelphi jumps two spots to No. 6, Mercyhurst remains No. 7, and Dowling drops four spots to No. 8 ... In last week's all-important first NCAA (Central) Regional Poll, NYIT stood No. 1, Dowling was No. 2, C.W. Post was No. 3, Adelphi was No. 4 and Mercyhurst was No. 5. 

NYIT: Keith Henderson scored seven goals with an assist as No. 2 NYIT remained perfect on the season, defeating Dominican 16-5 on Saturday to improve to 10-1, 3-0 in the ECC.

Dowling: Dowling had a 1-1 week in ECC action, defeating Dominican on Wednesday and falling to #8 Adelphi on Saturday.  Ryan Campbell had a 11 point week (3G, 8A), including the 200th of his career.  Since his return, Campbell has averaged 6 points per game.  In the cage, goaltender Nick Tracey picked up 17 saves and became Dowling's all-time career leader in that category (452).  The #4 Golden Lions host #9 Merrimack on Wednesday and travel to #5 CW Post on Saturday in ECC play.

Mercyhurst: The Mercyhurst Lakers had another successful week with two wins over Wheeling Jesuit and Notre Dame de Namur to extend its winning streak to six games. Mercyhurst has now won ten straight at home dating back to last year. Juniors Mike Thon and Mike Bartlett led the Lakers offensively on the week. Thon contributed four goals and two assists against Wheeling Jesuit and two goals including the game winner against Notre Dame de Namur. Bartlett added three goals and three assists against the Cardinals and two goals as well against the Argos. Reigning Nike/Division II Player of the Week Jason LaShomb picked up 12 saves and 10 groundballs on the week. Mercyhurst will now prepare to travel to East Coast Conference opponent New York Institute of Technology Saturday for a key match-up that could determine the conference championship and a play-off bid.

C.W. Post: The Pioneers won their only game of the week, a 13-12 contest over Molloy College, improving to 9-3 overall and 2-2 in the ECC.  They also moved up a spot to fourth in the latest USILA poll.  Thomas Maloney scored four goals while Greg Cerar scored three and assisted on three others.  Rob Renetta and Mike Dimler each had two goals, while Renetta had three assists and Dimler added one.  Freshman goalie Mike Giordano made eight saves in the net, earning the win for the Pioneers. C.W. Post returns to action on April 26, as they host Dowling College for a noon ECC match-up on Hickox Field. 

Adelphi: Adelphi improves to 6-4 this week with a 13-8 win over Dowling College, topping their win total from a year ago with two games remaining. Sophomore Ian Kuchta helped the Panthers to a 13-8 win over conference rival Dowling College. He led all players with a game-high seven goals, including scoring four of the Panthers first eight as Adelphi moved out to an 8-0 lead in the first half of action. Sophomore Devin Schneiderbauer made 16 saves and allowed just eight goals in Adelphi's 13-8 win over Dowling College. 11 of Schneiderbauer's 16 stops came in the second half. Schneiderbauer also picked up five ground balls.

Molloy: In their only game of the week, the Lions fell to C.W. Post, 13-12 on April 19.  Rob Humann made 21 saves in net for Molloy.  Keith Galante had three goals and two assists, while Brian Tempone scored two goals.
