Dowling to Host NCAA Men's Soccer Quarterfinal

Brookhaven, NY-  Dowling College Athletics will play host to the 2008 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Quarterfinals this Sunday, Nov. 23rd at Golden Lions Field. 

After hosting the 1st and 2nd round of the Super Region 4 portion of the Tournament this past weekend, which saw Dowling defeat defending National Champions Franklin Pierce 3-1, the Golden Lions look to continue their strong play against #20 U-Mass Lowell at 1:00pm on Sunday.

The Regionals are the first NCAA Tournament to be hosted at the new athletics complex in Brookhaven, NY, which showcases 3 new fields, including a multi-purpose field that plays host to the Men's and Women's Soccer and Lacrosse teams of Dowling.  The new complex highlights many state-of-the-art features, including new wireless scoreboards, heated press boxes with full wireless internet capabilities, playing fields consisting of advanced field turf, new locker rooms, and a cutting-edge sports medicine facility.

At 17-3-0 on the season, the #12 Golden Lions defeated #20 U-Mass Lowell in a hard fought match, 1-0, in their home opener in August.  The winner of Sunday's match will continue to the Final Four which will take place on Dec. 4th in Tampa, FL.
