Mercy Men's Soccer Team Lends a Hand to Habitat for Humanity

YONKERS, N.Y. – Just before the start of the 2011 season, the Mercy College men's soccer team joined in a project with Habitat for Humanity. Head Coach Chris Smith's squad volunteered for the community service event two weeks ago to help in the construction of a house on 5 Orchard Street.  They also cleaned up three vacant lots in the area.

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry that helps to provide affordable housing to low-income families through no-profit mortgage.  This is all made possible through homeowners and volunteers under trained supervision and with financial support from individuals, corporations and various groups.
