SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced its first NCAA Division II men's tennis rankings of the 2011-12 season recently, and the Knights of Queens College are ranked No. 24 in the poll. Additionally, six individuals are ranked regionally – including senior Attila Toth (Budapest, Hungary) and junior Nikolaj Wulff (Munich, Germany), who both have national rankings to their credit.
Toth and Wulff, fresh off their seventh-place showing at the USTA/ITA Small College Championships in the Division II doubles flight, are ranked No. 15 nationally (and No. 1 in the East region) as a tandem. Individually speaking, Toth and Wulff are nationally ranked as singles players in the Nos. 17 and 41 slots, respectively, and Nos. 3 and 5 in the East region tally.
Seniors Diego Medrano (Cucuta, Colombia), Tyrone Ewels (Pietermaritzburg, S. Africa) and Claudio Andrade (Sete Lagoas, Brazil) are ranked as the Nos. 6-through-8 singles players in the East region, while the latter two were the second-ranked doubles team in the East region (and received votes in the national tally).
Meanwhile, Medrano and senior Jesse Smith (New York, N.Y.) were tabbed as the No. 10-ranked doubles squad in the East region.
