NYIT, Queens, and UDC Men's and Women's Tennis Teams in Latest NCAA Rankings

Indianapolis, Ind. - The men's and women's tennis teams at NYIT, Queens, and University of the District of Columbia were listed in the latest NCAA East Region Rankings.

On the women's side, NYIT comes in at No. 1 in the poll. The Bears, who won their second straight ECC Championship in the fall and are currently ranked No. 11 in Division II in the ITA National Poll, take the top spot with an unblemished 18-0 record against regional opponents.

Queens comes in at No. 3 with a 15-3 mark against East Region opposition. Two of the three losses have come to conference rival, NYIT.

UDC rounds out the ECC representation in the women's poll, coming in at No. 8 with an 8-5 record.

In the men's poll, NYIT once again is the top ECC school, coming in at No. 2. The Bears, who will look to win their second straight ECC title next weekend, held a perfect 8-0 mark (11-3 overall) in regional play at the time the poll was released.

Queens is next at No. 7 and UDC follows at No. 9. The Knights currently hold a 6-3 record on the season while UDC maintains a 4-3 mark.

This is the second release of the regional rankings, with the final poll coming on April 23. Teams will then be selected to the NCAA Tournament during a selection show on Tuesday, April 29.
