
Central Islip, N.Y. - Senior outside hitter Justyna Michon of Katowice, Poland has been named the 2007 East Coast Conference (ECC) women's volleyball Player of the Year as selected by the conference coaches.
Michon, who earned the honor last season, enjoyed a sterling senior year for the Golden Lions, leading the ECC in total kills (541) kills per game (4.23) and points per game (5.01) and was among lead leaders in hitting percentage, finishing fourth overall (.358).
Dowling's Erin Przbylowicz of Ridley Park, Penn. earned Rookie of the Year honors. A setter, Przbylowicz led the ECC in total assists (1404) and was second in assists per game (11.23). She added 1.81 digs and 0.42 service aces per game this season.
Adelphi's Danielle MacKnight and Dowling's Alex Koszalka earned Co-Coach of the Year honors. MacKnight, in her first season, led the Panthers to a 7-2 ECC record, finishing tied for second place, as part of a 26-6 overall mark. Koszalka, in his eighth season, led Dowling to the ECC regular season title with a perfect 9-0 record including a 33-7 overall mark. Dowling entered the ECC championship tournament ranked first in the NCAA northeast region and had won 31 consecutive matches after a 2-7 start to the season.
