
Baden Player of the Week
Justyna Michon, Dowling (Gr., OH, Katowice, Poland) -
Justyna once again anchored the Golden Lions offense as she led the
team with 41 kills, averaging 3.73 per game to help Dowling claim
the NCAA Northeast Regional Tournament and head to their third
straight Elite Eight. Justyna clinched all three matches this week,
connected on the final point for a kill and nailed back to back
tallies to end the fourth game in the finals against Bryant. She
added four aces, 16 digs and seven blocks on the week and was named
to the Northeast Regional All-Tournament Team.
Baden Rookie of the Week
Erin Przybylowicz, Dowling (Fr., S, Riddley Park,
PA/Riddley Park) - Led Dowling to three straight victories in the
NCAA Regional as she dished off 135 assists, averaging 12.27 per
game. She added nine kills, 23 digs and six total blocks, including
a solo tally and was named to the Northeast Regional All-Tournament
Team.

Dowling: The Golden Lions head to their third consecutive Elite Eight after claiming the Northeast Regional Tournament with wins over Merrimack, Bentley and Bryant. Dowling dropped only two games in the three matches, out hitting their opponents .216-.175 and continue their winning streak as they push to 37 straight matches. Justyna Michon led the Golden Lions offense again this week as she connected for a total of 41 kills to hit .283. She also ended each match as she connected for the last kill of the game and even slammed back to back tallies in the Finals against Bryant for a 31-29 game four win. Patrycja Klekotka was hot from the line as she averaged 1.27 aces per game for a total of 14 while rookie setter Erin Przybylowicz dished out an average of 12.27 assists per game. Marina Markovic was second on the team with 35 kills to earn a spot on the Northeast Regional All-Tournament team alongside Michon and Przybylowicz.
Adelphi: The Panthers' historic season came to an end in the NCAA Northeast Region quarter final match up against Bryant, losing the match 3-2. The Panthers in their first ever trip to the NCAA tournament, held a 2-1 lead over the Bulldogs after game three, but were unable to close out the game in four and five. \Adelphi Women's Volleyball ends their season 27-8, far above their previous best finish of 20-14 set in 2004. In head coach Danielle MacKnight's first season, the Panthers set seven team records, and witnessed three individual records broken. Those team records include: Kills (1742), Kills average (13.79), Assists (1517), Assists Average (12.43), Most Wins (27), Best Winning Percentage (.794) and Longest Winning Streak (11). Seniors Flanagan and Addeo both set individual records - Flanagan in Blocks (343) and Addeo in Assists (4065) and Service Aces (232).
New Haven: The Chargers wrapped up their season last weekend at the Northeast Regional, advancing to the Regional Semifinals (Round of 32) before falling to second-seeded Bryant University 3-1. It was the 22nd NCAA appearance all-time for UNH, and the 12th in 14 seasons under head coach Robin Salters. After posting a 24-7 record this season, Salters will enter next year just two wins shy of the 400 mark for her career (398-128, .757 winning pct.). Rhe-Ann Niles, a first team All-ECC selection, also earned Daktronics Inc. All-Northeast Region First Team honors and advanced to the national balloting for All-America. Anicia Wood (First Team All-ECC) and Yael Rosner (Third Team All-ECC) were each Second Team All-Northeast picks in the Daktronics program. Niles is also up for Academic All-America honor after being selected to the First Team ESPN the Magazine All-District I squad earlier this fall.
New Haven: The Chargers are in the top half of the bracket once again as the NCAA announced the field for the 2007 Northeast Regional Championships. UNH hosted the regional last season as the No. 3 seed. It will be the 22nd time overall that UNH has advanced to the NCAA Volleyball Championships, and the 12th time in 14 seasons under current head coach Robin Salters. Salters, who has led UNH to six appearances in the Elite Eight, is closing in on career win No. 400, but would need a regional championship to get it this year. She currently stands at 397-127 (.758). The Chargers dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Dowling in the ECC Championship match on Saturday night, with graduate student Anicia Wood leading the way with 14 kills. It was the second year in a row that the Chargers fell to the top-seeded Golden Lions, who will earn the top seed in the NCAA regional when pairings are announced. Wood was named to the ECC All-Tournament team along with setter Yael Rosner, who logged her league-leading fourth triple-double of the season in a semifinal win over Adelphi on Friday night. On the statistical side of things, Rhe-Ann Niles, in her third season with the team, now has 1,099 kills to rank 10th all-time at UNH. She also has 287 block assists (6th all-time), 128 solo blocks (8th all-time) and 415 total blocks (7th all-time). She earned her third all-conference honor in as many seasons with a First Team nod this year. She was also First Team in 2006, and Second Team in 2005.
CW Post: C.W. Post (17-15) defeated NYIT 3-1 in the ECC quarterfinals, but lost to Dowling 3-1 in the semifinals. Senior setter Aisha Sealy posted a season-high 62 assists against NYIT, while senior outside hitter Jessica Lubeski notched a career-high 30 digs in the match. Lubeski also notched her 20th double-double of the season against Dowling.
