Molloy Women's Basketball Pays Visit to Nearby Elementary School
MALVERNE, N.Y. - Members of the Molloy College
women's basketball team recently made a local trip to Maurice W.
Downing Primary School in Malverne, N.Y. to have a sit-down talk
with the student council. During their discussion, the Lions made
strong points about how leadership, and teamwork are keys for
success on and off the court.
"Getting to talk to the children was a rewarding experience," said
junior Christina Marra (Dix Hills, N.Y.). "It truly made me realize
that the students look up to us, and care about the advice we gave
them. Since we were once in their shoes, it was really a lot of fun
to interact and inspire them."
"It was nice seeing the younger kids look up to us as role models,
and ask us questions," said sophomore Jessica DeNicola (Massapequa,
N.Y.). "Seeing the smiles on their faces, and the excitement of
interviewing us was a great experience."
"It was a great opportunity to see young individuals eager to learn
what they can do to be a leader at such an age," Ikema Ross (East
Patchogue, N.Y.), a junior for the maroon and white stated.
