ECC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, Felicia Joyner, Continues Basketball Career at England’s Durham University
Brookville, N.Y. – Former LIU Post
women’s basketball standout Felicia Joyner ’12 was
offered a post-graduate scholarship to play basketball from Durham
University in England for the 2012-13 academic year, it was
announced recently by Durham head coach Lee Davie. Joyner
will be able to play next season while earning her master’s
degree in business.
“Felicia gives us great flexibility at the guard spot,
allowing us to maximize all the talent we have on our team,”
says Davie. “Felicia’s defensive ability to
pressure the ball and disrupt the offense will allow us to force
turnovers and get out and run, while will be key this coming
season.”
The Durham women’s team was established last year, and after
an undefeated season in EBL division 2, have been promoted to EBL
division 1 this year. The Wildcats are the defending Northern
Conference Champions and also the defending National Champions.
Joyner, who was named both the ECAC and ECC Player of the Year
following the 2012-13 season with the Pioneers, led the team in
scoring with 17.0 points per game, finishing third in the East
Coast Conference during the regular season. Voted as a
Daktronics Inc. All-America Honorable Mention as well as an All-Met
First Team selection, the senior reached double digits in 29 games,
