Baden Offensive Player & Rookie of the Week

Ivana Babic, C.W. Post (Fr, F/M, Haninge, Sweden) - Babic was an offensive force in the ECC final game against Dowling with four goals - two in each half - as the Pioneers captured the title with a 5-0 win. For her efforts, Babic was named the tournament MVP. Was later named Second Team All Conference.

Baden Defensive Player of the Week

Kim Yacenda, C.W. Post (Sr., GK, Greenlawn, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) - Posted two shutouts (5th and 6th of the year) during the ECC tournament. In 182:19 minutes in goal, Yacenda stopped seven shots and faced a total of 15 shots. Was later named First Team All Conference.

ECC Notebook

ECC: Three ECC programs earned bids to the NCAA tournament ... Dowling will face Bridgeport at C.W. Post Friday with the winner advancing to a Sunday meeting with the Pioneers at 1:00 p.m. ... Adelphi will face Slippery Rock Friday at West Chester, with the winner advancing to face the host Rams Sunday at Noon ... Both bracket winners will face off in the NCAA third round November 16th ... In last week's NSCAA Division II national poll (10/30), CW Post jumped up to No. 7 from No. 22 ... New rankings come out tomorrow (11/6) ... In the most recent Northeast Regional top 10 poll, CW Post was No. 1, Bridgeport was No. 4, Dowling was No. 6, Adelphi was No. 7, and New Haven was No. 8.

C.W. Post: C.W. Post (16-1-2) caputured the East Coast Conference championship title with a 5-0 win over Dowling. Freshman forward Ivana Babic led the attack with four goals and was named the tournament MVP. The Pioneers earlier defeated third-seeded New Haven, 1-0, when sophomore forward Melissa Pascarella scored the game-winning goal in tehe 93rd minute. C.W. Post will now wait to hear selections for the upcoming NCAA Northeast Regional tournament. 

Dowling: The Golden Lions made their first ever program apperance in the ECC Post Season, clinching the #4 spot in the tournament. They defeated the Purple Knights of the University of Bridgeport, 4-3, to advance to the finals. Cassi Cronin opened scoring in the fifth minute and Sabrina D'Aprile pushed a 2-0 DC cushion just ten minutes later. Bridgeport even the score with back to back tallies, but Cronin connected on a rebound for the go ahead goal. Once agian, the Purple Knights retailed to knot the score at 3-3 and force the game into overtime. With 55 seconds left in the first overtime, Kristin Cipriano would connect on a pass from Lauren Carbonaro to net the game winner. The Golden Lions would fall to the ECC Champion CW Post team in the finals by a score of 5-0. Alicia Commisso made 7 saves in the game.
