Mercy College Selects Alan Clements as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach

Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. - Mercy College Director of Athletics, Pat Kennedy, announced that Alan Clements is the new head coach for the Mavericks’ volleyball team, effective immediately.

Clements is no stranger to Division II volleyball and comes to Mercy after being the head  volleyball coach at Felician College in Rutherford, New Jersey.  He took over the program there in 2007, and in his first year, led the Golden Falcons into the conference championships.

Prior to Felician, the Fair Lawn, New Jersey, resident was the head coach at Bergen Community College where he won the NJCAA Region XIX regular season and tournament championship.  He was also feted as the Region XIX Coach of the Year.

In 2000, he took over one of the most successful high school girls volleyball programs in the state of New Jersey, at Fair Lawn High School.  He was the head coach for six years.  Additionally, he has been the varsity girl’s basketball head coach since 1999.

He earned a bachelor’s degree from Lipscomb College, in Nashville in 1980.  He went on to earn a Master’s degree from Marygrove College in Detroit.
