Indianapolis - The NCAA recently announced that the Daemen at Roberts Wesleyan basketball doubleheader on December 5 will be broadcast as part of the Division II Basketball Showcase.
The Division II Showcase is part of a new NCAA regular season media agreement that sees 22 football games, 18 basketball doubleheaders, and 6-10 games in other sports featured nationally through either a hybrid online distribution model or through WatchESPN and the ESPN app.
As part of the hybrid model, the games will be produced by NCAA partner, Niles Media Group, and stream on the NCAA Division II Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as on the ECC Network. In addition, the games will also be simulcast on the East Coast Conference, Daemen, and Roberts Wesleyan Facebook pages.
The doubleheader will feature the Thruway Rivals, and the two newest members of the ECC in a matchup that predates both teams' entrance to Division II and the conference. Both contests will also be a rematch of First Round games from last year's ECC Championship. The games will also be the conference opener for both Daemen and Roberts Wesleyan.
Despite being a rivalry matchup that usually brings tight margins of victory, the series between the two schools has been recently dominated by one school for each gender. On the men's side, Daemen has won 15 straight and 22 out of the past 23 meetings against the Redhawks. For the women, Roberts Wesleyan has won four straight and seven of the past eight in the series against the Wildcats.
